San Pedro is the largest man-made harbor in the world. It has 3 lighthouses. Pt. Fermin (1874)-a Victorian lighthouse with 2100 candlepower, Pt. Vicente (1926)-a lighthouse made in Paris, it has a handcrafted 5 foot lens with 2 million candle power, and the Angel's Gate Lighthouse (1913) which marks the entrance to the port, it is on the breakwater (the rocks to make it came from Catalina). Ports O' Call Village offers whale-watching tours, sport fishing & barge fishing tours.

There are two noteworthy museums (among the many in the area). One is the Cabrillo Marine Aquarium located on Steven White Drive. For a suggested donation you can see exhibits related to local marine life such as whales, dolphins and sea lions in addition to a tide pool touch tank. The second is the L.A. Maritime Museum with it's exhibits about ships. Both have many interesting facts.
