Hermosa is famous for holding volleyball tournaments and surfing competitions. It too has a pier you can fish off of. The Strand through Hermosa is a "walk only" zone (if you are bicycling, even on the beach path, you must walk-Hermosa PD make a great deal of money for the city by ticketing you). There are several restaurants and taverns along the boardwalk here. Good Stuff and Hennessey's tavern have Live Cam's via the internet so you can keep up with the party atmosphere from your own home!
Almost every weekend during the summer, you can find some sort of event happening there. Whether it's a surfing competetion or a local radio station is giving away tickets, there are always crowds on weekends.
