Students Practice Writing and Punctuation in a Matthew and Tilly Story Theme
I have used this with first graders who have been practicing typing and writing short sentences with simple punctuation. This lesson integrates with their in-class reading about Matthew and Tilly. It helps them identify and use the comma, apostrophe, quotation marks, colon, exclamation point and period. I have the kids use their name and a friend's name in the story. Students print their story when finished.
