Students Create a PowerPoint about Tornadoes
Students research the internet to find information about what a tornado is and the causes of tornadoes. Students add information about tornado safety do's and don'ts. Students add interesting facts about tornadoes. Students add several images of tornadoes and tornado effects. Students use their research information and images to create an interesting and informative PowerPoint presentation about tornadoes.
Extension: Create a narrated video slide presentation. First save the slides as images. Next, insert the images into a slideshow app (Photostory 3), (iMovie) or online slideshow creator and narrate the slides.
Grade 3 and up
Slide 1 - Tornadoes
Students add a title "Tornadoes". Students add information explaining what a tornado is. Students add information about the causes of tornadoes. Students add one or more images of tornadoes. Students add their name.
Slide 2 - Tornado Safety
Students add a title "Tornado Safety". Students add information about two or more tornado safety do's. Students add information about two or more tornado safety don'ts. Students add two or more images of the effects of tornado damage.
Slide 3 - Interesting Facts about Tornadoes
Students add a title "Interesting Facts about Tornadoes". Students add 3 or more interesting facts about tornadoes. Students add two or more interesting tornado images.
