Planet Research PowerPoint Lesson Plan
|
|
Students research a planet and create a PowerPoint presentation with facts and images.
Students use the internet to research facts about a planet of their choice. Students investigate and report facts about who discovered the planet, when the planet was discovered, who it was named after, its order from the sun, distance from sun, earth, equatorial diameter, rotational period, and revolution time.
Students should seek at least four reputable and reliable sources such as NASA and JPL. Students can locate 4 or more images for use on the NASA, JPL and Wikimedia Commons sites.
This is a good time to discuss plagiarism and demonstrating how plagiarism can be checked by using free tools such as dustball.com. Students should also provide a bibliography with at least web addresses where they have sourced their information and images.
